Classical Homeopathy is a holistic therapy that was founded by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). It is based on the fundamental healing principle “Similia similibus curentur” (Latin), which translates to “Let like be cured by like”. This means that a remedy which would cause certain symptoms in a healthy person could heal similar symptoms in an ill person.
In “classical” homeopathy according to Hahnemann only one remedy is administered at a time.
From a homeopathic view, the feeling of being unwell cannot be reduced to a localized symptom or a diagnosis of a specific disease; it always affects the whole organism as an entity of body-soul-mind. Homeopathy is based upon the principle of a “vital force”. By means of a well-chosen homeopathic remedy it is possible to strengthen a weakened vital force, and thus stabilize the immune system and activate the body’s self-healing forces.
In order to find the correct remedy for the patient, it is necessary to take a detailed and complete medical history in an in-depth consultation of between one and three hours. The practitioner may ask about individual peculiarities and symptoms of the patient, about his/her childhood, family background, social background, character, course of disease, likes and dislikes of food, and other relevant matters.
As this first case taking is so important for the treatment, you will have sufficient time in my practice to report your physical complaints and your worries.
Following this extended case taking and based on your particular symptoms, I will select an individual remedy for you.
Follow-up appointments will be agreed upon at intervals of 6 weeks in order to assess the healing process and to discuss your reactions to the remedy and, if necessary, take further steps and prescribe another remedy.
It goes without saying that in the meantime you can contact me at any time, if you have any questions or if you experience any unusual reactions to the remedy.
Homeopathy can be applied to children and adults of any age.
